A quick Q&A with Holly Monaghan –Accountants One’s Top Recruiter for 2008
Q: Congratulations Holly. You were the Top Recruiter at Accountants One for 2008. To what do you attribute your success?

A: I listen very carefully to both my clients and candidates needs in order to make the perfect match. I am in the office everyday and I am reachable 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Q: What are your thoughts on the hiring market for 2009?

A: I think that the hiring market will continue to be very specific and challenging in 2009.

Q: What advice do you have for candidates in today’s job market?

A: You have to work very hard in this job market and you have to be creative. Applying to online job boards will not get you a job. Candidates must initiate their own marketing campaigns and directly target their top ten organizations in which they want to be employed.

Q: What is your philosophy of recruiting?

A: Listen, listen and listen. I listen to what clients and candidates are telling me. It is not about me, but about them. I always trust my gut instincts.

Q: In what areas are you seeing the most hiring activity?

A: Short-term projects. (maternity leave, seasonal work and special projects) We have also seen a need for Staff Accountants and Payroll Clerks in a temp to hire capacity.

Q: What do you like to do when you are not recruiting exceptional talent?

A: I enjoy spending time with my family. I also like being an active member in several community and social organizations.

Q: Any big plans for 2009?

A: Yes, to work twice as hard to achieve my goals at Accountants One in a unique market.

Q: What do you like most about recruiting?

A: I enjoy helping clients achieve their departmental goals and helping candidates to achieve their career goals. It is a great feeling when you know that you have helped to impact someone’s life.
