Assistant Controller

An Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the Controller in managing and coordinating a company's financial and accounting activities including the preparation of financial reports, budget management, and compliance with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Support the Controller with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
