Tax Accountant

A Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing, filing, and managing company or client tax statements and compliance documents while ensuring adherence to local and federal tax laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
  • Conduct tax research and stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in tax planning and strategy development to optimize tax savings and benefits.
  • Review financial statements and documents to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to tax regulations.
  • Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities, providing accurate and timely information.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or working towards CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in tax preparation and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
