Tax Director

A Tax Director is responsible for leading the tax function, ensuring compliance with tax laws, preparing tax reports, and creating strategic tax planning solutions for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the tax department, overseeing all tax-related activities, including compliance, planning, and strategy.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and legislation.
  • Review and approve complex tax returns, providing technical guidance and support to the tax team.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other departments on business initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic projects from a tax perspective.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MST preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing tax strategies and managing complex tax issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic tax advice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing staff.
