Accountants One has a repeat client that is privately owned by their employees. Manufacturing company that does over 500 million in annual sales and operations throughout the United States and Canada. This company is in Alpharetta, 100% in the office.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a corporate accounting team of four while coordinating financial operations with 11 divisional accounting groups across the U.S. and Canada.
- Oversee daily accounting functions including general ledger management, job costing, project accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Manage corporate payroll for approximately 20 employees and maintain a strong working relationship with the company’s outside payroll service provider.
- Direct cash management, company investments, and banking relationships to maintain consistent cash flow for multi-state construction and manufacturing projects.
- Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to provide financial forecasts, performance analysis, and long-term strategic recommendations.
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely completion of audited financial statements, while maintaining accuracy and compliance in monthly and quarterly internal reports.
- Administer and monitor the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), restricted stock, and 401(k) retirement programs.
- Manage corporate insurance programs, including health, property, casualty, bonding, and workers’ compensation.
- Oversee tax compliance and planning for both U.S. and Canadian operations, including income, sales, and property tax filings. Collaborate with external CPA firms for specialized filings and tax strategy.
- Establish and maintain consistent accounting practices and controls across divisions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to GAAP standards.
- Prepare and present financial dashboards, cost analyses, and project profitability reports to help leadership optimize performance and resource allocation.
- Assist with financial modeling, bid analysis, and capital planning to support new projects and business growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including at least five years in management or senior leadership.
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, or engineering industries with a strong understanding of cost accounting and job costing systems.
- Expertise in cash flow management, audits, insurance administration, and tax compliance.
- Proven success balancing hands-on accounting functions with executive-level financial strategy.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing both local and geographically distributed accounting teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Some travel required.
