Contract Staff Accountant – Maternity Leave Coverage
Location: Union City, GA
Schedule: In Office
Pay: $27.40/hour ($57,000 annualized)
Duration: Approximately 2–3 months
Start Date: October 13, 2026

About the Opportunity
A stable, well-established company and repeat client is seeking a Contract Staff Accountant to provide maternity leave coverage for approximately 2–3 months. The position will have an opportunity to overlap with the current employee prior to their leave to ensure a smooth transition.

This role is primarily focused on month-end close and general accounting, making prior hands-on accounting experience especially important.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process
• Prepare approximately 20 journal entries per month-end close
• Perform account reconciliations, primarily for asset accounts with some liability accounts
• Reconcile accounts to the trial balance
• Process Concur expense reports
• Process and reconcile corporate credit card activity
• Work within the company’s ERP system
• Assist with other general accounting duties as needed

Qualifications

• Hands-on accounting experience, particularly with month-end close
• Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Experience working in an ERP system
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Associate degree in Accounting is a plus, but experience will weigh heavily
• Ability to quickly learn processes and step into an established accounting function
