Accountants One is partnering with a client in Alpharetta seeking a Controller to lead all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. This is a full-time, in-office role ideal for a candidate with proven financial leadership experience in a mid-size services firm.
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations: A/P, A/R, and collections support
• Process payroll and manage tax and benefit reporting
• Handle AIA/construction invoicing, lien waivers, and subcontractor financials
• Manage client/vendor billing and contract compliance
• Ensure regulatory/tax compliance across states; manage foreign entity registrations
• Mitigate financial, legal, and operational risks
• Oversee insurance policies, renewals, and employee benefits administration
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
• Evaluate project proposals, purchases, and procurement policies
• Monitor ticketing system and review aging items with department heads
• Provide project/account financial reports (A/R, revenue, margins, etc.)
• Collaborate with department heads to improve cost efficiency and profitability
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Calculate and update weekly business metrics
• Streamline accounting systems and reporting processes
• Maintain financial policies and ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance
• Advise leadership with financial analysis and recommendations
• Supervise the accounting team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA/CMA preferred
• 5+ years of financial leadership, ideally in IT, MSP, or commercial construction
• Proficient in QuickBooks and financial planning/reporting
• Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant regulations
