Position Summary
This is a foundational role in shaping the financial future of a growing company. The Controller will have the chance to build— creating streamlined systems, establishing processes, and developing the accounting structure to support long-term growth.
Top Three Objectives
- Streamline Accounting Functions – Improve clarity on profit margins, trends, and growth analysis
- Create Processes & Procedures – Standardize workflows and strengthen internal controls
- Create foundation for future accounting team – Define and implement the accounting structure for future scalability
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations including but not limited to general ledger, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and cash management
- Produce timely and accurate financial reporting
- Lead forecasting and financial analysis to guide leadership decisions
- Monitor construction-specific reporting such as WIP schedules and project profitability
- Collaborate with project managers and executives to provide financial clarity at both job and company levels
- Serve as the primary liaison with tax advisors and financial institutions
Qualifications
- Progressive accounting experience with experience aligned with the goals of this role
- Seeking an accountant with a proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves approach who thrives on tackling challenges directly and supporting the team wherever needed
- Proven success in building processes and leading accounting functions through growth
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred
