CFO

Accountants One is working with a well-established client in the Marietta area within the Construction and Engineering industry. The company is preparing for the planned retirement of their current CFO next year and is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer to join their leadership team.

The new CFO will work closely with the President and serve as a key member of the executive team. This individual will lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance staff while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Key areas of responsibility include:

• Treasury and cash management
• Financial reporting and accounting
• Banking and financing relationships
• Legal, HR, and IT oversight
• Investor relations
• Facility and office management

Responsibilities: 

• Oversee the financial operations of the company
• Interact with management, operations, and shareholders 
• Take hands-on lead position of developing and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system.
• Evaluate and advise through long range planning, looking at new programs and strategies, and regulatory actions.
• Establish strong relationships with senior management team to be able to help address their business needs
• Extensive financial modeling
• Ensure financial controls are in place and ensure GAAP compliance
• Oversee facility management
• Oversee IT hardware and software systems are meeting business needs, manage the relationship with the outsourced IT provider.
• Direct and oversee contract negotiation, administration and review.
• Work closely with job cost, sales, estimating, drafting, and project management
• Perform monthly analysis and reporting to executive management 

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Accounting
• CPA, active or inactive
• Minimum of five years of Controller / CFO experience
• Minimum of five years of construction industry experience
• Strong modeling and forecasting experience
• Experience handling banking relationships
• Experience negotiating and reviewing contracts
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, WIP schedules, and cost-to-complete reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems 
• Proven ability to manage cash flow, bonding, and complex multi-project environments.
• Construction industry with construction accounting
• 6 years Tax return preparation and review and able to prepare and file
• Familiarity with multi-state taxation on an S corporation and shareholder level. Experience in ESOP structure, accounting and governance is preferred
