Senior Accountant - Sandy Springs, GA - Remote to Start, Hybrid Long-Term ($90,000 + 15% bonus)

About the Role
Accountants One is working with a well-established and growing company in the fitness industry to recruit a hands-on, driven Senior Accountant to support their high-growth, multi-location business. With 34 locations across three states (and plans to expand to 36 by year-end and 90 within five years across the Southeast), this is a unique opportunity to help shape and scale the accounting infrastructure. This role will work directly with the CFO and leadership team on day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.

As one of the first dedicated internal accounting hires, you'll play a critical role in refining processes, ensuring compliance, and preparing for long-term growth in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:
  • Accounting & Operations
  • Manage full-cycle accounting: journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and internal controls
  • Lead transition from cash to accrual accounting in partnership with CFO and third-party accounting firm
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and prepare technical accounting documentation as needed
  • Serve as primary point of contact for external audits and ensure timely, accurate reporting
  • Prepare internal financial statements and investor reporting packages
  • Collaborate with studio managers to maintain consistency and accuracy across all locations
  • Oversee payroll process via Club Ready > Pay Well > ADP for 500+ employees
  • Manage employee expenses through Bill.com
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Partner with CFO to monitor financial performance and align with strategic goals
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Track cash flow, capital investments, leases, and inventory
  • Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Assist executive team with due diligence, financial modeling, and integration of new acquisitions
  • Help align post-close financial operations and reporting
Experience & Education
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or CPA track preferred
  • Ideal background: 2 years at a Top 10 public accounting firm (audit), plus 1–2 years in a private equity-backed environment
  • Prior experience in high-growth or multi-entity companies strongly preferred
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and improve scalable systems (QuickBooks Online)
  • Humble, team-first mindset with a strong work ethic—ready to put in the time to help the company grow
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting
Compensation & Growth
  • Base salary: ~$90,000
  • Annual bonus: up to 15%
